    24 June 2026: Hemis Festival honors Guru Padmasambhava’s birth with monks performing the Chham, sacred masked dances that symbolize the triumph of good over evil.

    This year the festival was celebrated on 24th and 25th Jun, drawing visitors from all over the world to the monastery. Watching the monks perform “Chham”, the masked dances, with traditional music and the rituals – was a great experience.
